Fishing gear manufacturer Xtools introduces its new 8-inch Floating Fillet Knife, another fine tool designed with the fishing enthusiast in mind. A cut above the rest, Xtools dual-purpose 8-inch Floating Fillet Knife is great for quick and accurate filleting on all types of fresh or saltwater fish.

Xtools 8-inch Floating Fillet Knife is engineered for comfort and utility, featuring a non-slip E-Z Grip handle for easy operation that provides a secure, safe hold in wet or dry conditions, at all temperatures. In addition to comfort, the knife is lightweight, so it won’t become an inconvenience after a long day on the water.

Every hunter knows that the secret to a successful turkey decoy is not just how it looks, but how it moves:unnatural motions not only look fake, but they're sure to spook that prize tom, too.

Painstakingly modeled from real life turkey hens, the Bobb’n Head Lifelite Feeding Hen Decoy is astonishing in its level of hand-painted detail, which replicates the living, breathing turkey right down to the last feather. But it’s the innovative mechanism which brings the decoy “to life” which really sets it apart from every other competitor on the market.

That’s because it uses a unique coil spring mechanism which allows the head and neck to move, in a realistic feeding motion, at the slightest breeze, without the need for motors or jerk-strings. This lets hunters concentrate on hunting, not on fiddling with stubborn decoys.

“Gobblers just can’t resist it,” notes BuckWing VP of Operations Bob Long. “The Bobb’n Head Lifelite Feeding Hen Decoy is absolutely the closest thing to ‘live bait’ you can find, and it’s the surest, fastest way to a roast turkey dinner, too!”

The Bobb’n Head Lifelite Feeding Hen Decoy is collapsible for easy transport. Set-up is easy, too: the decoy employs a stake-mounting system, which can accept an extension, to raise the decoys, in high weeds or crops.

XTools New
Floating Fishing Pliers
Don’t Trust a Flashlight
That Uses Batteries

Fishing gear manufacturer Xtools has introduced the new Bentnose Floating Pliers that are unlike any other fishing tool on the market.

Designed for avid fresh or saltwater anglers, these pliers have a completely different look, feel and function.

For starters, the new Xtools pliers are manufactured with highly visible composite materials that are sturdy, lightweight and are rust resistant. They also feature special soft padded handles for superior comfort and a better grip with wet or dry hands, in all temperatures. What’s more, these pliers even float if accidentally dropped or knocked in the water — a great bonus when boating.

Fishermen are accustomed to “heavy metal” pliers will be amazed at how light Xtools floating pliers are.

You can actually keep these in your pocket or hang them from your belt all day and forget they are there until you need them.

The team at Xtools knows that serious fishing pliers also need sharp, reliable cutters for rigging lines and cutting out tangles. For this purpose, the new Bentnose Floating Pliers feature a rugged, rust resistant tungsten carbide cutting system that can make short work of monofilament line or leader, regardless of how heavy. It even cuts through today’s popular braided superlines with ease.

These new pliers measure 6.5 inches in length and feature curved jaws with special gripping surfaces on the inside. This unique jaw shape is ideal for securely grabbing a hook and removing it from a fish’s mouth. An included safety lanyard provides added security when you’re leaning over the boat to unhook an active fish.

Fillet King®

Rapala Signature Fillet and Fish 'n Fillet®

Necessity mothered this invention by three brothers from northern Wisconsin . After a successful fishing trip, Wayne, Tony and Bruce Johnson had a mess of panfish to clean, but no fillet board handy, so they set a section of ceiling light grate over a bucket and went to work. The grate held the fish in place, while slime and scales fell through the holes and were caught in the bucket. Knowing they were onto something, the brothers developed the Fillet King® system that incorporates a form-fitting grate and catch tray.

The Fillet King® makes filleting one or many fish quick and easy, as there is no slime build-up on the cutting surface. Knife pressure holds fish firmly in place on the grate, while slime and scales are caught in the tray. Made of high-impact polystyrene, Fillet King® is dishwasher safe for easy clean up. Optional accessories include a carving deck, carry bag and joiners that allow two or more Fillet King® boards to be joined together side by side or end to end. Fillet King® is available as a single board, twin pack or family (four boards) pack. Twin and family packs include joiners and nylon carry bag. Fillet King® is also useful for messy kitchen tasks, such as slicing bread, cutting fruits and vegetables and thawing frozen foods.

Fillet King® is available at Gander Mountain stores and online at www.dansmalloutdoors.com . Manufactured by Superior Blue Products, Dresser, Wisconsin . Distributed by Dexter Distribution Company, Inc., Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Grip N Check

You won't hear Missouri crappie fisherman Kendal Bailey talking about the big one that got away. Bailey recently landed a patent on his new crappie measurer, the Grip N Check. His innovative measuring tool quickly, easily and safely sizes up a crappie's length to determine if it's within state-mandated minimum lengths.

The Grip N Check incorporates several features not found in other fish measurers. The fish fits headfirst into the polycarbonate tool; a thumb tab stops the flop; if the fish isn't keeper-sized, the fisherman can release it back into the lake without harming it. The Grip N Check also protects the user by keeping a fisherman's hands away from a crappie's sharp fins.

Bailey points out that one of his favorite features is that the Grip N Check is manufactured in Grandview, MO. “‘Made in the U.S.A.' means a lot to me, and, from what I hear, to a lot of other fishermen,” he says.

Bailey fishes regularly in the Bass Pro Shop Crappie Masters Tournament. He says the Grip N Check quickly captured the interest of tourney organizers, and has become the official measurer for the Masters Tournament.

In addition to selling from its website, KB Innovations will sell through large retailers like Cabela's, and at bait and tackle shops around the country.
