Bushnell Brings Color To Night Vision Optics

Bushnell night vision optics are popular for scouting and wildlife watching, allowing viewers see into the dark undetected, without spooking game. The only drawback for some people is that the image has a green hue and there is a lack of contrast, so images are not always sharp and depth perception is difficult.

The new 3x32 Digital Color NightVision monocular from Bushnell solves both problems. The new monocular uses a Color CCD Sensor and a digital color LCD screen to turn night into day. With some ambient light, color can easily be detected and in pitch black, stripes of an animal are detectable where previously not possible.

The unit features true 3X magnification with a field of view of approximately 70 feet and a range of nearly 300 feet.

The Bushnell Digital Color NightVision monocular works great not only for wildlife viewing, but for night fishing, camping, boating, caving, security and surveillance, search and rescue and nighttime navigation any time you need to clearly see into the night without a flashlight.

The Bushnell Digital Color Night Vision monocular sells for a suggested retail price of $299.99.

Coyotes Can't Resist New Estrus Whimper from Johnny Stewart Wildlife Calls

Experienced coyote hunters know that to be a successful caller you need to understand not only how to make prey-in-distress sounds, but coyote vocalizations as well.

The new Estrus Whimper call from Johnny Stewart Wildlife Calls can produce all of the sounds of a female coyote during the breeding season, as well as the sounds of a coyote pup-in-distress. Coyotes are very territorial and when they hear the sound of a female being bred, they can't resist coming in to challenge the "intruder." The pup in distress call also triggers a strong response as they come in to protect a juvenile animal.

The Estrus Whimper is built on the Mac Daddy platform, which makes it easy for anyone to operate. Simply blow into the call while depressing the lever, which puts pressure on the internal reed. When more pressure is applied, the pitch gets higher.

The Johnny Stewart Estrus Whimper is a great addition to any predator hunter's arsenal of calls. It sells for a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Hobie's Mirage Pro Angler Wins Best of Show

Hobie's Mirage Pro Angler has been voted by buyers and media as the most innovative new product of ICAST 2009 in both the overall "Best of Show" and the "Marine" category.

Sponsored by ESPN Outdoors/BASS, the New Product Showcase is the show's flagship event and was more competitive then ever before. The 208 exhibitors entered 600 products that were judged on their levels of innovation, execution, workmanship and practicality.

The ceremony took place the first night of the show. Vince Console, Hobie Fishing's product manager, accepted the coveted award on behalf of the whole Hobie Cat Team.

Long known for expertise in building watercraft, Hobie Cat introduced the Hobie Mirage Pro Angler fishing boat in February 2009. They took the defining feature used in their kayak line, the patented MirageDrive pedal system, and combined it with their proven boat-designing capabilities to build a fishing machine.

The boat has been selling as fast as it can be produced. Winning the ICAST awards reflects both the individual success of the Pro Angler as well as the spiraling growth of the small boat/kayak fishing markets, markets in which Hobie is quickly gaining strength and leadership.

ICAST, the International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades, is the world's largest sportfishing tradeshow and was held in Orlando, FL. More than 7,200 representatives attended the show, including 2,200 buyers and more than 500 media representatives.

Case Updates Traditional Favorite

The new Case TrapperLock offers one of the knife industry's most traditional pattern shapes with a more modern liner-locking clip blade that opens with just one hand.

The new Case TrapperLock will be offered with a stainless steel blade in Pocket Worn Old Red Bone, Genuine India Stag, and Rogers Jigged Mediterranean Blue bone. Smooth Yellow Synthetic and Standard Jigged Chestnut bone handle versions will be offered with a Chrome Vanadium blade.

The new Case TrapperLock measures 4 inches when closed and weighs about 3.5 ounces.

"Case has been very successful in redesigning traditional knife patterns for the good of the consumer knife industry," says Ed Jessup, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Case. We're very pleased with the way the TrapperLock has turned out and we're anxious to see the reaction to it."

Clam Introduces 5 New Pop-Up Shelters

The engineers at Clam Ice Fishing have proven once again that when it comes to portable ice-fishing shelters there are no boundaries.

A part of the shelter innovations by Clam this year is the introduction of five new pop-up portable shelters. This includes two models that come with a hard floor, an industry first. These lightweight portables provide loads of space for anglers when set up, yet they are compact for storage. Adding to Clam's thermal line of shelters is the Base Camp Thermal, a 6 x 6 pop-up shelter with heat retention capabilities that reduce condensation.

Clam also is introducing the new Rapid Pole Slide System (RPS) on all its fish trap models. The Easy-Glide push buttons of the RPS system allow anglers to easily deploy or tear down the shelter for easy movement or storage even in the coldest temperatures.

Thermal caps on portable ice shelters are offered as options on the Yukon TC and Voyager TCX models. Fully insulated models like the Nanook Thermal, Base Camp Thermal and Thermal X are perfect for anglers who like to set the hook in comfort.

The sport of ice fishing is growing due to the low cost of entry and Clam has addressed this by introducing an affordable four-man shelter and a new lower-priced Full-Thermal shelter.
